Week 36 and 37!

Sooo, apparently the time is passing so fast I completely forgot about week 36… so I’m combining weeks 36 and 37… which is… FULL TERM!! WHOO!!!

Today is Friday, so technically I am 37 weeks and 6 days… however, moral of the story, I have EIGHT. DAYS. LEFT!!!! Just 8 freaking days! I am so lost in dreamland right now I can’t even wrap my head around it.

Update from last week: My BFF Jenn, she's having a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!

We saw our friend Sarah who took our maternity pictures on Easter Sunday and she gave me a disk of the edited shots!! I am so in love!! I couldn't be more happier with them!! Here are a few of our faves!!

LOVE, LOVE I tell you!

Last week was pretty eventful… a few girlfriends and I attended Wicked at the Rochester Auditorium Theatre.. it was absolutely amazing and so much more than I thought it would be. I’ve heard such great things from it and I had been looking forward to seeing it for forever. It did not disappoint. And, I totally saw my OB there! Lol… one of the friends I was with goes to her as well so she was surprised to see both of us together, kind of random and funny at the same time. Although it was totally comforting because I was feeling weird movement patterns from the baby during the entire first half of the show. The only way to describe it would be as if the baby was fully pushed up against my belly and breathing! My belly looked like it was breathing on its own. Completely crazy and so nothing I’ve ever felt before. I was going to ask her about it when I saw her, but she was there with her family, I didn’t want to make her think work when she probably doesn’t have many days off. Just knowing she was there was SO comforting. I had an appointment the following Monday anyways so I got to bring it up to her.

During my appointment I had mentioned that I was having pain in my pubic area, almost like the bone was bruised and the muscle was pulled. It hurts to walk, do stairs, lift my legs… pretty much do anything. Sometimes it even hurts to sit if I’ve been super active for long periods of time. I told her about it and she diagnosed me with Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction… basically there are two joints down there that are being held together by cartilage and my cartilage is tearing…. Sounds fun! It’s super painful and apparently the cartilage could actually completely tear apart which she told me was super painful and takes a really long time to heal. She mentioned that if I was having a natural delivery, chances are it would completely separate. So she told me no more stairs, light activity, no lifting anything over 15lbs and the best part…… she took me out of work early!!!! YES!!!! Today is my last day… I am sitting here at my desk with  52 minutes left of my last day of work for TWO MONTHS! Although I would totally take working the last 3 days I was supposed to be scheduled, I am ok with this. This will give me a week or so to get my house in order (for the most part) and prepare for my parents coming in a week!!  I am going to try to take it easy though… I don’t want to tear this thing…. She said one of her patients tore hers while scrubbing her floor! She bent down and then couldn’t get back up. Ugh, sounds so painful!

Also, during the conversation I had with her about the pain and my new limitations, she told me no more sleeping on the air mattress unless it was on an elevated platform to eliminate having to get off of it 3 or 4 times a night to pee…. Wah wah wah…. Daniel, the awesome husband that he is, took our mattress and put it on the floor for him to sleep on, and then put the air mattress on the bed on top of the box springs…. It hasn’t been the most comfortable, but it is easier to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom.

Well that whole fiasco led to my wanting a king size bed sky rocket… needless to say I cracked down on the search… craigslist is always my first option for anything… I ended up last weekend finding a deal for a sleigh bed, a box spring and a mattress for $150… I was pretty hesitant on using a used mattress, but my mentality was $150 for at least the bed itself and the box spring isn’t a bad deal at all considering the frames like that go for at least $300 and the box springs alone are around $150… It was an hour drive to get there and we figured once we learned of the seller’s living conditions we would then decide on if we were going to use the mattress or not. I did buy a mattress allergen cover that I was planning on using after a nice spray of Lysol to disinfect it as much as possible. However, once we got there, the minute we stepped foot in the house we both were like, NOPE! Let’s just say the living conditions were enough to make child services concerned… and they had a 4 month old. The house was so freaking dirty, we came home and cleaned our house for 2 hours straight. However, we preceded to look at the bed and the box springs already knowing we were going to be curbing the mattress itself. The room we were in was kind of dark so it was hard to see the nicks and dents on the BLACK bed, but I was so excited about the deal, I paid them and we loaded it and drove the hour home.

Once we got home, we noticed the box springs were in worse condition than the mattress and we were both so grossed out by everything we had seen in their house we decided to curb both the mattress and the box spring and only keep the bed. I felt a little jipped…. Especially after learning that in the daylight, the bed was NOT that great… however, I continued to look for a mattress and box spring brand new online. There was a set I had been eyeing at Walmart.com for a memory foam mattress and a split box spring… I talked Daniel into it and bought it… and may or may not have paid for rush shipping for it to get her sooner. It arrived on Wednesday and last night I made Daniel take down our bed, I washed the “new” king size bed and we set it up in our bedroom. I was so excited to use the new mattress I literally like rushed to bed. It only took 5 minutes for me in the bed to realize that it was going back to the store. First off, the mattress was supposed to be 8”… it only expanded to about 5” and the minute I settled into the bed it felt like I was sleeping on the hardwood floor… I dozed off because I was so tired, and woke up around 3am to go to the bathroom. I got back into bed and said “EFF THIS.. I’m going to the couch.” I was so irritated at how fast I bought this set the numbers I paid kept flashing in my head…. I literally got maybe like 4 hours of sleep last night, so this weekend we’re on a mission “FIND NEW MATTRESS”….. that is all I can concentrate on right now! Not only that, but the tossing and turning and the pain of sleeping on the new mattress made the “cartilage pain” feel like 10 times worse today… I am so happy it’s my last day!!

Anywho…. In baby news…  last week baby was the size of a Honeydew!

Your Baby: Week 36

Baby is getting closer and closer to being able to breathe on her own.

This week, she's the size of a wintermelon! (Where do they come up with these??)

Your Baby: Week 37

Around 37 weeks, many moms-to-be find themselves organizing cupboards and scrubbing their floors. That’s the nesting instinct kicking in as your body senses baby will be here shortly.

No scrubbing floors for me!

Symptoms: Vag pain, back pain, hip pain, peeing every hour, heartburn, pelvic pain, some constipation still...and still feeling tons and tons of movement... kidney pain...hot flashes, headaches and bloody noses like woah!
Food Cravings: Back to Mexican
What I'm most excited about: My parents arriving, my last day of work and April 20th!!
Something I've done to prepare for baby: Bed nesting...

Here are my bumps!
